Elena Paredes Suris (Rosario, 1912 - Barcelona, 2006) was a Catalan painter of Argentine origin. She studied at the Llotja de Barcelona and participated in several Salons de Maig. In 1965 she won the Joan Miró International Drawing Prize, an annual reference of avant-garde drawing. He had a studio in Cadaqués and exhibited in Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia, among others. He stands out for his expressionist style, which he uses to express feelings such as anguish and oppression.
His work can be found at the MACE-Museu d'Art Contemporani d'Eivissa, Museu de Cadaqués, Instituto Aragonés de Arte y Cultura Contemporáneos (IAACC) Pablo Serrano and Museu de Vilafamés. ( thanks Wikipedia )
