Aligi Sassu (1912-2000) was an influential Italian painter, sculptor, and ceramist, known for his vibrant and dynamic style that captured movement, especially in his depictions of horses and bullfighting. He was influenced by the Mediterranean after moving to Mallorca, where he spent his final years creating important works, donating much of his legacy to the Sassu Foundation in Lugano, and leaving an indelible mark on 20th-century art.
