Barcelona 1992 Olympic Poster by Pilar Villuendas & Josep Ramón Gómez · 70 × 50 cm

Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games poster by Pilar Villuendas and Josep Ramón Gómez, featuring a central human figure surrounded by colourful Mediterranean imagery. This vertical paper poster measures 70 × 50 cm and is supplied unframed.

Bold blue and red outlines define an upright figure with raised arms, holding a torch-like form at the upper left. Around it, lively graphic signs suggest a palm tree, a bird, waves, a sailboat, the sun and architecture. Vertical black “BARCELONA 92” lettering anchors the left side, with the Games emblem, Olympic rings and multilingual event text along the bottom. The designers’ statement retained in the previous listing presents Barcelona as an open, optimistic Mediterranean city and relates the imagery to water, air, fire and earth.

Colour and display

Red, deep blue, golden yellow and green outlines are joined by orange and pink accents on a light background. Black vertical lettering provides a strong contrast, while the open centre of the figure keeps the busy imagery light and airy. The bright palette would work well in a creative studio, a relaxed dining space or a Mediterranean-inspired living room. Pale timber, white walls and woven textures would complement the background, while a blue or green accent can connect the poster to the room without competing with its many colours.
