Antón Lamazares (Lalín, Pontevedra, 1954) is a Spanish painter of the 80's generation, like José María Sicilia, Miquel Barceló or Víctor Mira. In his works, painted on wood and cardboard, he creates his own language by experimenting with varnishes and other materials. His style evolves from an initial playful expressionism, moving towards informalism and abstraction, with a minimalist drift in his last stage, where he welcomes the dialogue between soul and memory, and also between sensuality and spirituality, onirism and poetry. With a wide international projection, his works have been exhibited in numerous cities in different continents, and are included in the collections of major art centers such as the Museo Nacional Reina Sofía, the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Madrid or the Marugame Hirai Museum in Japan, as well as in many private collections and foundations.
